A rare, exquisite statue of the joined Tibetan Deities Yab-yum (in Tibetan "father-mother"). The statue represents the primordial union of wisdom and compassion, depicted as a male deity in union with his female consort. The male figure represents compassion and skillful means, while the female partner represents insight. United, the figures symbolize the union necessary to overcome evil and obstacle. This particular piece is very finely made with the deities decorated by beautiful rosettes, beads, pearls and flowers. Yab holds a bell and dorji in each of his hands, symbolizing protection, enlightenment and clarity.
This is a substantial piece that will be a prized asset to any Tibetan collection.
