A song dynasty style porcelain pillow of the Long Quan kiln. The Long Quan kiln is one of the most important Song dynasty kilns. Started 1600 years ago, it produces celadon green and lotus leaf green glazed pieces with subtle under-glaze engraving.
This piece was designed to be a pillow, but can be used as a hand towel holder. The base is a house model with wonderful details such as stairs, carved doors and windows, even a man standing at the doorway. Scrolls decorate the "foundation" of the "house". The top is lotus leaf shape with beautiful engraved pair of love birds and lotus flowers.
A beautiful, highly collectible piece of Chinese Ceramic Art that can be used in sophisticated modern living.
