PAIR ANTIQUE FIGURES "EARTH GODS"
FEATURES: The Earth God and Goddess were widely worshipped by the Chinese farmers for good weather, sun, rain, and harvest. Eventually farmers entrust their faith with the Earth Gods for other aspects of their lives. Here we have a pair of completely original statues dating exactly to Year 31 Emperor Guan Xu (1905) in Qin Dynasty. Opening the back pockets reveal pairs of neatly written prayer notes. The messages were written on rice paper using a calligraphy ink brush. They clearly state the years, the believer's name, her address and her wishes for healing. This is indeed a very rare treasure.
