A majestic, large, white butterscotch San Cai horse in high gloss. The Sancai technique dates back to the Tang dynasty (618–907AD). This wonderful piece has all the hallmarks of Tang San Cai terracotta potteries with skillfully applied glaze achieving amazing artistic effect. Horse's vivid expression bring the piece to life. His muscles are well defined. The horse is decorated with a green saddle with harnesses studded with lapis blue accents, and red bejeweled bells. The fluid dripping of the colored glaze is very elegant and highly artistic. Sancai sculptures remain one of the most admired and treasured art forms in the world till this day.
