A pair of beautiful Chinese Antique screens in black and red lacquer. The main openwork was created using the painstaking joinery method. Every little piece is joined together by tenons and mortises, forming the famous "ice crackle" pattern. Top of the screens feature elaborated peonies and foliage. The middle section has light relief carvings of chrysanthemums and bamboos. The screens are finished on both sides. On the back the middle section has a simple, beautiful, classic ruyi motif.
