ABOUT ANTIQUES

Chinese/Asian antique furniture are made of solid wood. They have marks, cracks, uneven surfaces, scratches and sometimes splits and peels due to movements of solid wood reacting to climates. These are not defects. During restoration we painstakingly preserve a piece's patina in keeping with its integrity.

Tibetan and Mongolian furniture, even though some are new, have similar conditions due to the fact they are one of kind pieces, hand made by folk artists and craftsmen, without the wood drying and conditioning equipment available to furniture manufacturers. Dramatic climate change from Tibet to America also contributes to the splitting of solid wood on furniture. 

We at EASTERN LIVING take pride in presenting our antiques and introducing them to you with the best of our knowledge. All quoted age and dimensions are approximate. Price is for each piece unless the title says "pair" even if the photo shows 2 items together. 

 

PICKUP AND SHIPPING

All items are physically located in southern California. Shipping fee paid on line will be refunded for self pickups. Please email and inquire pickup address.

Local delivery is available. Please email for delivery fees.

We make great efforts in packing the pieces for shipping to help ensure safe arrival. Small items are shipped within 3 days of order, furniture a week.

Shipping is done through USPS, UPS ground or Light Freight Carrier. Large furniture and stone sculptures are shipped via Light Freight Carrier. Freight delivery is curbside only. White Glove Delivery is available upon request with additional paid fees.

Full Insurance can be purchased in addition to cost of shipping (highly recommended), as standard maximum UPS insurance coverage is only $100 no matter the value of the piece.

International buyers please inquire about shipping fees. Custom clearance, applicable duty, taxes, and fees are buyer's responsibility

 

DAMAGES

Please thoroughly examine the condition of your purchases upon delivery. All damages during transit must be reported immediately to the delivery driver. Retain a copy of his/her note clearly stating the damages. Photos of damaged packaging and items are required in submitting a claim.

  

RETURNS

Due to the nature of our business, our store policy is No Returns.

 

OUT OF STOCK

 Almost all of our antique pieces are one of a kind. Out of stock situations happen frequently due to extremely limited quantities (most of time there is only ONE piece available). Please contact us if your desired item is out of stock. Current items are likely to be available again. Antiques vary from each other in details, dimensions and colors. We will do our best to source a similar piece for you.
