ANTIQUE CARVING SCHOLAR
FEATURES: This is one of the 3 extraordinary carving panels in our "light relief" collection. The image features a scholar sharing a moment of reading with his student symbolizing the continuation of wisdom and knowledge. Pine trees in the background symbolize longevity. Mountains, river and rocks add to the sophistication of the piece. Delicate, light hand carving methods were used, resulting in elegance and fludity. Yet no details were omitted. Wonderful details such as the folds of the clothes and facial expressions can be observed.
