A solid wood table in Ming dynasty style. The solid top is set in a floating panel structure joined by mitered tenons and mortises. A narrow waist connects the top to the set of two full size drawers before continuing onto four hoof style legs. The table is in great condition with beautiful natural patina. A hand carved character of "advancement" is discovered close to the edge of the desk. The mark was a self-motivating reminder left by the original owner when he used this table as a desk in his long strenuous study. It kept him focused on the purpose of his diligence.
