Gilt Bronze White Tara Statue

A beautiful gilt bronze White Tara statue. The serene face with large downcast eyes under arched eyebrows above pursed lips, flanked by long earlobes, all under hair neatly tied and adorned with an elaborate crown. Extra eyes between the brows, on the feet and palms indicate her power to see and cut through evil spirits. Tara is clad in a embroidered shrug covering her shoulders and a dhoti, also embroidered, that ties around her waist, with layers of necklaces draping over the bare bodice. She sits on a lotus throne in dhyana asana, hands in vitarka mudra holding the stems of lotuses and conferring blessings. White Tara is the Goddess of Compassion who helps ease human suffering and grants wishes. This finely crafted piece conveys a great sense of peace and harmony. 5.6 lb.
