This pair of antique doors featuring geometric squares exemplifies Ming Dynasty's simple elegant style. Hand carved peonies symbolize prosperity. Geometric patterns are formed using tenons and mortises. Small pieces of wood were cut precisely and painstakingly connected forming the design using the joinery method. These panels are an understated piece of art. Original iron hardware. Handsome slender dimensions. Beautiful patina.
The left panel has a bit of warpage which is shown in the photos. It is the result of solid wood adjusting to a climate different from its origin. Price reflect the imperfection.
33.5" w x 89.5" h x 2.5" d (each panel is 16.75" w)
