An exceptional, most unique, extra long hand painted Tibetan Thangka featuring the beloved Green Tara. Seated on a high lotus throne with a pair of holy beasts, her right leg extended, signifying her readiness to spring into action. The left leg is folded in the contemplative position on the lotus pedestal. Her left hand holds the stem of a lotus, a symbol of purity and power, with her right hand she makes the wish-granting gesture. Tara wears a fully embroidered robe that ties around her waist, leaving torso bare which is adorned with layers of jewels. Behind the Goddess is a large illuminating mandorla further highlighting her divine power. The refined painting captures the glory of Green Tara by combining the typical iconographical setting with the most vibrant red color scheme. It is fully gilded and anchored by the mantra prominently displayed above the statue. Green Tara helps one cross over from suffering to happiness. Representing active compassion, she is particularly worshipped for her ability to overcome the most difficult situations. Thangka is painted by one of master painters in Nepal and framed meticulously in black and white gold brocade providing striking contrast to the fantastic red painting. Wax seal by artist. Comes with silk brocade storage box and dust cover.
